Once I  heard a  song on the radio and fell in love with the 'sound',  the vocals and guitar work. I Loooved the sound of that guitar!  It was soooo right!  You know  when you hear the 'right' sound and it does 'things' to you, it  touches a part of you and you never forget it. Sure,   often we never forget a song, or some music because we hear it sooo often..this is different.  It's hard to explain. I just knew it was 'right'.

Unfortunately, I never heard who the artist was or the title of that song.  I listen for weeks hoping that I would be lucky enough to hear it again and then get the CD.  No such luck!  :-(

Years later, I happen to hear it again! only it was on T.V. !  I had never forgotten that 'sound' and now I finally had a  name and CD title!  Wow!   But, it was too good to be true.  No one knew of this artist or where to obtain his CD.  Yes,  he was listed in their books, but,   no longer available!  However,  we could try and 'special order' it and if there was one somewhere, I would be sure to get it.  Well, months went by...nothing!  I had given up all hope.  Then one day, a phone call came thru,  yes!!!   they had one.. it cost me!!...and I gladly paid.    Yeahhhh... Jack de Keyzer  ...
"Hard Working Man".  Hehheh   I almost wore it out the first week.   :-)

A couple of years later, we re-located  and what luck!  I finally saw  in a newspaper entertainment section, a listing of where he would be performing!!   I questioned several people if he was local or what.   No one knew of him. Anyway, off we went to finally see and hear this artist.   I wanted to hear the 'sound' live!  finally! The moment arrived.  I could hardly wait!  Ohhh yes!!  I would have known that sound anywhere!   Live or recorded, it was the same!  It was 'there'!  :-)

I was somewhat nervous in actually meeting him afterwards.  Hey, it's one thing to be familiar  with the music and then quite another to meet the person,  plus many of these artists are in the 'business' and after years,  it's just a 'job' and meeting people is part ofthe 'job' you know,   and you can 'feel' it.

Jack on the other hand, never came across that way.   I got my precious CD signed ! Thank you, Jack  for being so kind and understanding.  Poor guy, I think I kind of overwhelmed him a bit! It's just that finally, after ALL these years.. I not only learnt the name of the artist, song and CD!   but I was actually also meeting the person responsible for that great sound!  LOL.. for a long time, I thought it had all been a figment of my imagination!  :-)

I still could not believe how such a talented and gifted artist/guitarist could remain so unknown. From that day on, I made it MY personal goal that Everywhere I went, Everyone I met would hear and know of this Jack de Keyzer!  I LOVE music and many artists, but this one has 'something' and I just know that if they got to hear about him and hear him just Once!  they would also be hooked!  How can it be otherwise?  It worked for me!!  Great talent and  also an all round great guy!  and so, I call him 'KING'.  Long may he Rule, huh?     :-)  Go, King, Go!!!

The world is now just beginning to 'hear' him too.. his Award winning CD "Down In The Groove" has received a Junos nomination, 3 Maple Blues Award nominations and won the "Best Blues Recording", also won the Jazz Report Award 2000 for "Blues  Album of the Year"!     Way to go, King!   Congrats!  I'm not the only one that recognizes your talent!       (Check out The King's Award Page. )   Followed by his "Six String Lover" CD -  another award winning CD!!  Received a Juno for that one.    :-)
And now, he's recorded his "Silver Blues" album - celebration of  25 years of Jack de Keyzer published songs.  Can't miss with
this one either!

Since meeting The King, I have seen him perform several times, and got to know him a bit more. It still never fails to amaze me when I see him in action.  It's soooo Awesome!   As a token and symbol of my love and appreciation to The King's talent and guitar work, also at my good fortune of having  found him, I bring him a single red rose on each performance I attend.   :-)

These pages all have roses.... they are symbolically  dedicated to The KING and his great talent! This website is dedicated to promoting and publicising Jack de Keyzer so that as many as possible will have the opportunity to hear, know  and love  this
Great Guitarist / Singer / Songwriter / Producer..........
.. "The KING", Jack de Keyzer!
