Staple Binding -
The cheapest and fastest way of binding your chapbook.
Basically it is one fold, 2 staples and you're done

Don't Like Staples..stitch it!

Step 2:  fig 1

Starting inside the booklet:
push the needle and thread out through the centre and back in through the bottom, being careful to work your needle through the centre of your fold (spine). Make sure you leave an unknotted tail on the inside.
*If you're using a special thread or ribbon you want to highlight, start from the outside instead of the inside and you can tie a knot or bow on the outside when you're done,

Step 4: fig3

Push the needle and thread back through the original centre hole, pull tight and knot with the tail around the centre cord.

If you need to tighten the thread, always pull in the direction you're sewing.

Simple Chapbook Stitch

How to:

The stitch is a simple & elegant binding, with a needle and thread. as a good alternative to stapling (saddle-stitching). A thread or thin ribbon will do or anything you want to try.

Step 1:
Fold and assemble your chapbook. You don't want the chapbook to be too thick, as it will be difficult to push your needle through the spine. Thread your needle with your thread or ribbon.

     Step 3:  fig2

Take the cord the length of the fold and
push it back out through the top.

You did it!!

Congratulations!
