The concept and goals
- comes from an experience
Some time ago, I heard a song on the radio. Loved it!
Loved the sound. Unfortunately,
the DJ never announced the artist or the name of the song.
Never heard it again till years
later. This time I heard it on a music channel on TV.
Finally I learned the name of the artist
and the song. I was beginning to think I had imagined it. I could
not find his CD, nor did
anyone know who I was talking about.
That artist? - Jack de Keyzer. Well, he is better known today
not only in our own country but
out side of our country! He's a Juno and Maple Blues
Multi-Award winner.
The point is, all it took was to hear him once! and I
never forgot it.... this is actually what
inspired the concept of the Stellar Showcase. All it
takes is to be heard by the right person,
the right time, ONCE! and so, The Stellar Showcase was 'born'
to give as many artists an opportunity of any avenue
possible a chance to be 'seen' and 'heard'.
The Stellar Showcase is devoted to the (basically free)
promotion of some of Durham
Region & Canada's Local Musical Talent by finding / using any
means available to achieve
this. Yes! please drop Jack de Keyzer an e-mail and say
Howdy and thank him! :-)

his official website.
As volunteer at Rogers Televison. I learned various aspect
of aspect of TV production.
I was trained as a camera person, production of studio and
mobile and eventually directing
several live on air broadcasts! Think of the thrill of
being your favourite artists' camera person when he's was guest
on our show debuting his award winning album!
From 1998 The Stellar Showcase has come a long way! It was a
learning curve. Since then,
I've created several websites for musicians, artists, DJ's,
writers, tv personalities, music teachers, photographer and
entertainment and promoted them also.
I've also learnt to broadcast on an
internet radio to promote the musicians and for
them to receive air play.
Now, I'm expanding my interest to Authors / writers and poets
as I feel, just like the musicians they need promoting also.
The Durham Region Poetry Digest began in 2006
published through J.
Graham Publishing to give local new poets an opportunity to
be published and to be known in their own area of
The Ontario Poetry
Society - Oshawa Branch.
The need to expand beyond this region was obvious when we had a
Poetry Event
(photos). We had poets from Southern Ontario with members
attending, including the Founder, I. B. Iskov and President,
Shirley A. McCormick. To quote Graham Ducker, The Ontario
Poetry Society's Oshawa Branch Manager: 'Poetry is alive and well
in Durham Region!'
During that event, I kept being asked
by member out of our region if they could send their poetry
submissions also.
The Durham Region Poetry Digest has
changed name to reflect the growth and success since it's inception.
It has been decided to re-name it
The Stellar
Showcase Journal which will remove it's local aspect and
give a broader scope and diversity. The 'transitional' first
issue with the new name and logo and ISSN was set up in
August and our new quarter began in September 2006. Since that date,
we now receive poetry
submission worldwide, including short stories and articles on
writing and with
subscriptions to our printed Stellar Showcase Journal and Newsletter
subscribers!
This winter, February 2007, the Stellar Showcase Journal
was in
Cuba! &

Soon, I will be adding a reading corner for short stories,
interviews and poetry on my internet radio. It's in development as I
write this.
